Strength for Runners Series: Day 1
Welcome to the Rhythm Run Coaching Strength Series! Strength is an important part of an athlete’s training routine to help with injury prevention, strengthen muscles AND joints, increase muscular endurance, promote quicker recovery, improve running speed, and increase running economy, just to name a few of the benefits. All of these exercises can be done at home with little-to-no equipment. I would recommend strength training anywhere between 1-3 times per week, depending on your goals and the time of year, but your coach can help you with the specifics of integrating strength training into your running regime.
